Detroit Techno Militia Welcomes J.Garcia and DETUNE to the Crew

Detroit Techno Militia (DTM) proudly announces the addition of two respected artists to its roster: J.Garcia of Detroit and DETUNE of Ghent, Belgium. These additions strengthen both the Detroit core and the international reach of RECON:313, DTM’s extended network of artists representing Detroit techno culture around the world.

For Detroit Techno Militia, this is more than a roster update—it reflects long-standing relationships built through years of shared dance floors, mutual respect, and dedication to the craft.

DETUNE Joins RECON:313 from Ghent, Belgium

A longtime ally of Detroit Techno Militia, DETUNE joins the collective as part of RECON:313, representing from Ghent, Belgium. Known for his deep devotion to vinyl culture, DETUNE has spent decades digging through record stores across cities including Detroit, Tokyo, Berlin, Kyoto, and Vancouver, constantly searching for music that expands the mind and moves the soul.

His performances often unfold across a three-turntable setup, allowing for extended blends, scratching, improvisation, and manipulation of sound in ways rarely seen today. By combining the lost art of turntablism with futuristic textures, DETUNE creates a distinct atmosphere every time he steps behind the decks.

Over the last twenty years, he has quietly refined his approach while exploring the roots of electronic music. In production, he combines analog sound with digital recording technology, always searching for an uncompromising and timeless result.

“To me this music thing is about a Determined Engagement To Uplift Neglected Elements of this art form, hence the name.”
