Both lifelong Detroiters, Seoul and Linder share a similar upbringing in the world of electronic music. Both cut their teeth performing in the mid-nineties where they honed their no-nonsense approach to performing and their turntable techniques. They developed an obsession with pushing the art of DJing after hearing legendary Detroit DJs like Jeff Mills, Claude Young, and Gary Chandler during their formative years in the underground music scene. To this day, Linder and Seoul share a great deal of respect for their musical forefathers and show it through their rigorous touring schedule and commitment to their craft.
DJ Seoul and T.Linder are no strangers to to touring. With over twenty five years of combined professional DJ experience, they have performed at thousands of events the world over. In early 2008 they embarked on the DTM Recon:313 European Tour. This winter, they have combined forces to bring the Detroit Techno Militia 2x4 to the stage with the "Rust Belt Tour". This tour embodies the sound of Detroit by layering the new with the old in a way that cannot be represented with just two turntables. By incorporating four decks with two powerhouse DJs, the "Rust Belt Tour" is spreading the gospel of Detroit Techno to the masses.
When the Detroit Techno Militia 2x4 takes the stage, one can expect to hear an aggressive, edgy blend of music that can span many genres with a heavy emphasis on Detroit Techno and Electro. It's a battle for the soul of the music when Seoul & Linder perform and they exude a level of energy rarely seen in the realm of electronic music.
Detroit Techno Militia is a record label and grass roots DJ/Producer collective dedicated to preserving the legacy of true Detroit electronic music and its proliferation around the world. They take pride in contributing to a tradition that has deeply inspired the entire world.
