Detroit Techno Militia strikes another powerful blow to dance floors and loud speakers everywhere with their first vinyl release in nearly two years, 'DTM004'. This various artists compilation equips the listener with an arsenal full of classic analogue sounds, infectious rhythms and floor-stomping bass, vital for any sonic attack.
Bang Tech 12 co-founder, DJ Seoul leads off the assault with 'Electrified Planet', a classic Detroit blockbuster that deploys deep beats and vocals that reverberate in your mind, transmitting an order to dance that cannot be denied.
On the flip side, Detroit native The Mercenary showcases his allegiance to the early roots of techno with 'Bagheera', a lush percussive peacekeeper that wins over hearts and minds with its handclaps and haunting melodies.
The EP closes out with 'Amygdala', a soulful barrage of acid-techno from Detroit techno soldier and stalwart Darkcube, along with remix support from DTM co-founder, T.Linder. This track will lay siege to any dance floor, forcing complete and total surrender.
This year the DTM 2 x 4 featuring T.Linder & DJ Seoul will be one of the featured preformers at DEMF/Movement! For more information about the festival, go here: http://www.detroitluv.com/index.php?board=79.0

DJ Psycho is, plainly put, the antithesis of the modern-day DJ. He uses strictly vinyl, he doesn't play to any one crowd, has no specific genre that he draws from and works the stage like a seasoned rock band. Instead of listening to the radio, he listens to his heart and plays off the energy of the crowd, whereas a lot of headlining DJs have laptops, practiced set lists and doesn't communicate with the audience. Also unlike a lot of DJs, you can put him in any venue - rock bar, nightclub, all-night EDM-type - and he'll flat-out destroy the place, leaving the audience wondering what happened, but asking for more. He combines the turntablism technique of an early Jeff (The Wizard) Mills, the artistry of DJ Shadow, and the punk-rock sneer of Johnny Rotten, topped off with an almost unbelievable (and unfailing) musical knowledge that goes beyond most people that you have ever personally encountered.
He engages the audience in impromptu call-and-response (and sometimes singalongs), making them feel more like a part of the creative process instead of being the sheep that radio intends them to be. A 15-year band veteran (Rev. Right Time & The First Cuzins of Funk, Funkilinium, The Fffellaz), he knows the ins and outs of working the length of the stage....and pushing the audience to think outside of the box musically.
A phenomenon? Probably.
A genius? Maybe.
A performer in every sense of the word? Definitely.
A rock star with 2 turntables and a microphone? Absofreakinlutely.
One thing for certain; you will never ever find, hear or experience anything like DJ Psycho. Ever.
